Analog Insydes is a Mathematica toolbox for symbolic analysis of analog electronic circuits. This project provides a set of free add-ons to Analog Insydes, including a Java front-end and a native netlister for Cadence's Analog Design Environment (ADE). Leveraging the Virtuoso Schematic Editor and the Virtuoso Analog Design Environment, it provides a single platform for IC-and package/system-level design capture, analysis, and verification. In addition, the Virtuoso System Design Platform provides an automated bidirectional interface with the Cadence SiP-level implementation environment.
Cadence IC Virtuoso Overview
Cadence Virtuoso is used at CSUS for similar tasks in more advanced classes, and for graduate student projects in integrated circuit design. Electrically aware design can enable us to save several iterations on the design of each block sensitive to parasitic effects. Depending on block complexity, design time savings can range from half a day to several days per block.
